The West Innovation District is an economic development and planning initiative spearheaded by the City of Dublin. The economic development goal creates an environment that supports and enhances the City’s core principles of Live, Learn, Work, and Create. O’Brien Atkins coordinated the development plans of the first anchor tenants, UMC Partners and The Ohio State University School of Medicine, with the overall concept of the Innovation District. O’Brien Atkins’ Concept Plan showed how to grow the district into a technology and medical research center, while preserving the environmental character of surrounding Dublin. The plan lays out a framework of roads, greenways, open space and parcels for development. The Concept Plan and the detailed schematic plans are coordinated with the Zoning District requirements. Design Guidelines were included to encourage development for a unified vision.
